This photo was taken years ago, when the three of us were still learning as we went, spending long afternoons together and noticing the little things most people miss. That instinct for craft, texture and meaningful detail goes back to our childhood in Armidale, sitting beside our mother as she opened her dusty rose jewellery box.

Even then, jewellery was never about status for us. It was about the story behind each piece, the memories it could hold, and the feeling of wearing something that truly belonged to you.

That shared love has shaped our lives and, eventually, our work. Every piece from Margaret & Eleanor carries that same spirit — thoughtful, personal and made with care, with the belief that the things we cherish most are built to last and meant to be lived in.

What we create here is part of the family rhythm our mother began all those years ago. Our children and grandchildren are now woven into the life of the workshop, supporting us as much as we support them. We are selective about every material we use. If we would not wear it ourselves, it does not make it into a collection. We work with trusted suppliers and choose quality over quantity, always looking for the same sense of care and lasting quality that has shaped our work from the beginning.

We genuinely love what we do, and we wear our jewellery ourselves. We promised each other we would stay true to the craft, just as our mother taught us to value the meaning behind each piece. So we keep our collection small, check every detail by hand, and only release pieces that feel personal, intentional, and truly worth keeping for a lifetime.

The same care that goes into each piece extends to the way it arrives. Every order is presented in our reusable signature box and protective pouch, designed to be kept and enjoyed rather than discarded.

We choose recycled and responsibly sourced materials wherever possible, keeping packaging minimal and recyclable. And when your order is a gift, we can add a handwritten note — a small personal touch to make the moment feel even more meaningful.

What began between two sisters has grown into something shared across generations. Today, our children and grandchildren are woven into the everyday life of the studio, supporting us as much as we support them.
